LILY MOSKOWITZ

WRITING                       FASHION                                 ART                                   ABOUT

is a writer, artist and researcher in New York City.

Lily is interested in material culture, clothing, and embodiment. Her process has been described as “sitting with words long enough that they require a surface.” Her visual works shuttle between object biographies, garment sculptures, and post-consumer portraiture. She is concerned with opacity and circuitous routes towards language.

Lily has presented research at academic conferences across the US on topics including, but are not limited to: embodiment under capitalism, visibly worn clothing, and the history of the merkin.

At current she is pursuing her Master’s in Fashion and Textile Studies at Fashion Institute of Technology, where she hopes to expand scholarship on defect, purity, and value in consumer and exhibition spaces.

You can find her writing in Office, Ethics, and Hankycode magazines.
